My Mission: To celebrate differences, to inspire to serve, and awaken the soul
we view the world through different lenses.
MY ART SHOWS THE WORLD HOW I SEE IT. WHEN I THINK OF MOUNTAINS IN THE EARLY MORNING, THIS IS WHAT I SEE. THE COLORS AND TEXTURES AND SHAPES ARE UNIQUE TO MY LENS.
Let’s remember this lens applies to people, places, experiences, and even thoughts.
our society today is full of hate and misunderstanding. when we disagree, anger is often the emotion that follows. people feel so deeply connected to their beliefs that when someone has a differing opinion they take it as a personal attack. i loooove that our world today is so passionate, truly inspiring. I just want to remind the world that we are all seeing the world through different lenses that were developed through our own experiences. So, let’s find joy in our differences instead of hate.
i believe most people want to do something good.
With our lives thrown all over social media trends are popping up in every aspect of our lives.
what we are eating is trending. our gender is trending. what we do for a living is trending. what time we wake up in the morning is trending. how we help people is trending.
it’s all a bit crazy. so, i just want to remind people to stay a little grounded. its easy to get so lost, and caught up in what is the trendy way of doing something. so, people want to help others, and the trendy way of doing this is sending money to these causes that are all over the world. (please keep doing this, i’m not trying to detour this amazing generosity.)
i want to encourage people to donate their time to causes that are right across the street from them everyday. time is one of our most valuable resources and I believe the most generous form of giving is with our time.
so, every town i set up shop in I’ll be volunteering somewhere local that same afternoon. I’ll have it advertised and planned so that i may be able to encourage some friends to come along with me.
remember what excites you!
we all have those things that excites us more than we can really explain. It’s normally something you notice when you aren’t actually doing it. I find this odd sense of exciting, calm whenever i’m somewhere new or on my way to such a place. this sense of “exciting, calm” is almost like something I’m addicted to. i need it.
if i go long periods of time without being on the road, or even visiting the town over, i get depressed and sulky. i become extremely uninspired and all i can muster is the motivation to press play on netflix. this is the feeling that initially told me that travel was the thing i needed to stay emotionally healthy. When i actively plan out little adventures i find that artistic inspiration comes easier and i’m able to fight off any feelings of self-doubt, or pity relatively easy.
So, i encourage you all to find out what that “thing” is for you. what excites you and awakens your soul? it could be escaping into a book, creating your own world through writing, playing golf, dancing in your living room, or literally anything. if we all remember these things that excite us, we can all do AMAZING things.
